Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes have a bright saffron-yellow skin and a rich, tangy-sweet flavour. Both are premium varieties, and the preference is largely personal taste.
How do I know if an Alphonso mango is real or fake?
Genuine Alphonso mangoes (Hapus) have a strong, unmistakable fragrance even before cutting, saffron-yellow skin (not uniformly green or artificially uniform), and creamy, non-fibrous orange pulp. Carbide-ripened mangoes often lack fragrance, have whitish pulp near the seed, and go bad quickly. All RQD Farm mangoes are naturally ripened — never treated with carbide.
